August 2008 - World Champions Once More

For the second time in 3 years our drum corps at Torphichen and Bathgate became World Champions in Grade 2.

A solid run saw us pip our friends and rivals Ravara from Northern Ireland in the 22 band event at Glasgow Green on the 16th August.

August 2008 - New Product Ranges Added

June 2008 - British Champions

Torphichen and Bathgate Pipe Band and their drum corps were both crowned British Champions on 28th June 2008 at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham.

The drum corps used the complete range of products on the day.

June 2008 - New Tenor Sticks Released

We are proud to announce the latest line of Alba products is now in production and available.

Our new tenor sticks come in a variety of colours, but also a variety of thickness of foam used on the heads assist with optimum sound for bass tenor, alto or tenor.

Our bass tenor sticks comes with 25mm foam, making the sticks heavier than normal tenor sticks which uses 12mm foam.  The alto sticks use 6mm making it the lightest stick.

This is a new concept which is generating a lot of interest in this new and exciting product.

April 2008 - New Products for 2008

We recently announced that after feedback new sticks were on the way.  We are pleased to say that the new sticks (pictured in banner above) have now arrived.  We are very pleased with the completed product and are sure our customers will be as well, the feedback so far is good.

We are also pleased to announce another two new products.  We have coming along very soon a Snare Harness and a Pipe Holster.  We are excited about both new products and very happy to be delivering our first product for pipers.

January 2008 - New Sticks on the way

After feedback we have decided to make a slight change in our drumsticks.  We have now shortened the length slightly as well as making the stick slightly thicker. We believe these slight modifications will make the stick even better.

The sticks are now in production and the new sticks will be shipping within the next few weeks.

July 28th 07 - Torphichen lift European Drumming Championship

Callum and Julie were back playing in the Torphichen drum corps after the recent birth of their daughter as the band competed at the European Pipe Band Championships on 28th July at Inverness.

The drum corps added the European drumming title to the Scottish title already won in May.  The victory places Torphichen Drum Corps with 16 points from a possible 18 this season and top of the 2007 Champion of Champions table.  The next major championship for the band will be the World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green on August 11th

July 17th 2007 - Callum and Julie celebrate birth of daughter

Callum and Julie are delighted to announce the birth of their first child. Baby Erin was born on July 17th 2007.

We would like to thank everyone who has emailed, called, texted and sent cards to pass their best wishes on, we really appreciate it.

June 15th 2007 - New website goes live

Alba Percussion are delighted to announce that our new website is now live.

The website constructed by Scotia Web Design Ltd including our online store went live in June 2007.
